No Tolerance Policy Implemented for Oklahoma Junior Players

By USTA Oklahoma Staff

USTA Oklahoma is committed in making all district junior tournaments a positive experience for both players and spectators.  Before the start of each tournament, the district sends out a sportsmanship email to all participants that also includes the Spectator policy.  In addition, we ask that they also watch our two minute video.

Recently the Oklahoma Junior Competition Committee passed the below No Tolerance Policy.  Please take a few minutes to read over this policy.

  • If a player exhibits any type of unsportsmanlike behavior on or off the court and the acting Tournament Director or Official notifies USTA Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Junior Competition Committee, this accused unsportsmanlike behavior will be reviewed by the committee.  The player will be notified that this grievance is under review and will have 10 days to appeal the accusations. If player is found guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct, player will be suspended one month.  If no tournament falls within the one month period (four weeks), suspension will be extended until one tournament (Circuit the suspended player is a member of) has been completed.

  1. To Staff;
    Interesting approach. Can you tell me what constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct? Also, how many court monitors do you use per tournament?

    Thank you.
