We are just under one month away from our 3rd annual Cowgirl Tennis Pro-Am which will take place at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center on Fridaynight, Sept 7th. Our first two years have been an amazing success, and we hope this year will be even better! Attached you will find the registration for this year. The form is a fillable pdf, so you can put in all of the information, save it, and send it back. There are 3 options to participate. The first option is to bid to play with a Cowgirl player or staff member! You can place you bid amount in the blank next to the player and the highest bidder for each player wins the opportunity to play with that person in our event. We accept all skill levels! Don’t be afraid that you are not qualified, simply enter or bid to play with a player and we will match up your level with others accordingly. The second option is to enter a team. Maybe you have a regular doubles partner and you want to try your hand against some of the Cowgirls from across the net. The third option is to simply join us that evening for our dinner portion. Following the pro-am, all players are encouraged to stay for the dinner which is included, and others can join us for the dinner and an opportunity to share dinner with the Cowgirls and staff. We will have each player introduce themselves and tell you more about who they are, and I will give a brief overview of the season and introduce our new staff to all of you! This has turned out to be a great evening of spending intimate time with our players and allows you to see their personalities more. Last year we hosted over 100 people for the dinner and we are hoping for an even larger turnout this year! We have made this a big recruiting weekend with our most important recruits coming for the game the next day and we hope they will see the support of our program first hand!
If you are a Cowgirl tennis alum, we want to especially invite you to attend. We have been in the process of refurbishing the Ike Groce statue that was previously placed at the old Colvin Courts, and we want anyone who played or worked with Ike to join us as we unveil the refurbished statue in its new home inside the Greenwood Tennis Center! We hope that we can draw many of our alumni from the last 40 years of Cowgirl tennis to join us and encourage the 2018-19 Cowgirls as we start a new season!
If you are unable to attend the event but would still like to be a sponsor, you can look on the second page of the form and pick a level of our Baseline Club that would like to support and still participate as a sponsor of the event. For those who attend, we will have several wonderful experiences to bid on, including a chance to join us as we open the spring season on Jan 12th against Duke in the Bahamas!

Finally, since it has been some time since our last update, I wanted to let you know that our Cowgirls have been excelling on the court this summer. Vladica Babic who just graduated from the program this spring won her first professional singles title last week in El Salvador, while also advancing to the doubles final. Vladi is off to a great start launching her pro career. Sofia Blanco, who teamed up with Vladi last spring to advance to the NCAA Doubles Finals, just went to the Pan-American Games in Brazil and dominated the completion. Sofia took home the gold medal in singles and doubles without dropping a set and then teamed up to win the Bronze in mixed doubles! Sofia will be entering her senior year and along with Vladi, these are two that you will want to bid on!
Please spread the word about our pro-am, invite your friends to play or join us for dinner that evening, and lets pack the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center! This is your chance to play on the courts, so don’t miss it!
